Nahargarh Fort sits proudly on a ridge of the Aravalli Hills, creating an impressive northern backdrop to the city of Jaipur. It was constructed during the reign of Jai Singh in 1734, and was later expanded in 1868.

Nahargarh, which means abode of tigers, was a formidable barrier, defending Amber against attacking enemies. Within its walls, the fort houses Madhavendra Bhawan, the summer destination for the members of the royal family. Built by Sawai Madho Singh, the palace has 12 matching boudoirs for the queens, at the head of which is a suite for the king.

They are all connected by corridors decorated with delicate murals. Even today the palace is a favoured spot for local picnickers. The fort looks brilliant when floodlit at night. Overlooking the city, it presents a glittering view of the city lights.

The Indian state of Rajasthan is famous for its royal heritage. Formed by the union of many princely states ruled mainly by Rajputs, Rajasthan has many forts and palaces.

Some of these palaces and forts are associated with important historical events as well. Nahargarh Fort, along with other two forts viz., Amer Fort and Jaigarh Fort, once formed a strong defense for Jaipur city.

This fort gives you a breathtaking view of the scenic surroundings. One of the major tourist attractions of Jaipur, Nahargarh Fort is noted for its extended wall which connects it to the Jaigarh Fort.

The fort follows Indo-European architecture and there are many structures inside the fort. To the left of the entrance gate 'Tadigate', there is a temple dedicated to the deity of Jaipur rulers.

Apart from this, there is another temple inside the fort, dedicated to the Rathore prince, Nahar Singh Bhomia. Another attraction in the fort is the 'Madhavendra Bhawan' built by Sawai Madho Singh. This is a two-storey building which has suites for the king and his twelve queens.

It is divided into nine similar apartments and each of these apartments has a lobby, bedrooms, toilets, kitchen and store. Other structures inside the palace include Diwan-I-Aam, an open air enclosure where the king met the common men and listened to their problems and complaints.

The city is extremely well-connected to the other parts of the country. The domestic airport is at a distance of 7 km from the main city at Sanganer, while the international airport is at a distance of 10 km.

By Train

The railway station is at a distance of 5 km and is well connected to the main city. There are many trains which connect Jaipur with different cities across India.

By Road

The Pink City is also connected with the major cities through a strong network of National Highways. The Rajasthan State Transport Corporation has a fleet of Deluxe, semi deluxe, Volvo and non AC buses, which make travelling more comfortable for tourists.

Pichola Lake is one of the most gorgeous and pleasing lakes of Rajasthan, India. Located in the heart of the city, In 1362, the beautiful lake was built by Pichhu Banjara during the ruling period of Maharana Lakha. Talking about the dimensions of Pichhola Lake, it is extended to 3 miles in length, 2 miles in width and has depth of 30 feet.

Lake Pichola reflects the cool grey-blue mountains on its rippling mirror-like surface. The lake is now 4km long and 3km wide, but remains shallow and dries up completely during severe droughts. The City Palace complex, including the gardens at its southern end, extends nearly 1km along the lake’s eastern shore.

The beauty of this lake has not separated anyone to attract towards it. The lake looks more enchanting with its scenic surroundings. Maharana Udai Singh must have been certainly captivated by the charm of this pristine lake with the perfect backdrop of lush green hills as when he founded the city of Udaipur, he enlarged this lake. He also constructed a dam made in stone that falls under the 'Badipol' region on the shore of this lake.

Pichola Lake is enveloped by lofty Palaces, temples, bathing ghats and elevated hills on all its sides. In the southern part of this lake, there is a hill that is known as Machhala Magra and one can see glimpse of Eklinggarh Fort from here. The City Palace of Udaipur broadens along the eastern banks of this lake. Built by Jagat Singh, Mohan Mandir is situated in the north-east corner of Lake Pichola.

Lake Pichola comprises several islands that accompany the calm waters of the lake. The world-renowned Lake Palace is perfectly located on the Jag Island of this tranquil lake. Even the Jag Mandir, another destination of tourists, is located on an island of this lake. Above all, a trip to Pichola Lake would be incomplete with a boat ride. The Maharana Pratap International Airport or the Dabok airport is 25 km from the lake. It is 22km east of Udaipur on the National Highway 76. Spread over 504 acres it is an International airport.

By Train

Trains are run by the Indian railways to the Udaipur city Railway station from all the major railway stations of the country.

By Bus

Buses are available for Udaipur tourism at regular intervals from the national capital New Delhi to Udaipur .These buses are run by Rajasthan Tourism Department.

Shaniwarwada Fort - This Fort Is One Of The Most Horrible Places In India

Shaniwarwada is an 18th century fort in Pune Maharashtra, India. Constructed in 1732, it was the place of the Peshwa rulers of the Maratha kingdom until 1818, Bajirao Peshwa built the Shaniwar Wada in 1736. It is a seven storied mansion and served as a seat of political power during its time. It acclaimed tremendous importance and is the city’s main attraction till date.

The Shaniwar Wada was largely destroyed by mysterious fires in 1827 which continued to rise during the 19th century and led to the destruction of the entire palace leaving just the mirror hall intact. When visiting the palace, one can still get a view of the leftover plinths, the fortification walls with five gateways, and nine bastions that enclosed the whole complex.

The elaborate foundations of the original palace along with the nagarkhana showcasing the wooden pillars and lattice work add up to the beauty of the mansion. The sturdy doors were designed to be protected from the enemy.

It was named Shaniwarwada from the Marathi words Shaniwar (Saturday) and Wada (a general term for any residence).On the every moon night this fort in India turns into a horror place. Where local people frequently hear a horror sound coming “KAKA MALA VACHWA" (uncle save me) from the fort in the every moon night. The place where the spirit till now and final words of his past mortal life.

At the back of Fort’s unnatural activities there are story of the murder, greediness for power and fraud. Peshwa Nanashaheb had three sons Vishwasrao, Narayanaroa, Madhavrao. After the death of Nanasahaheb in the third Panipath war Madhavarao become as Peshwa. During  the third Panipath battle Viswasrao died. After the death of Vishwasrao his brother Madhavrao also died. At that time Narayanarao was only 16 years old. He became as a Peshwa in very small age. Because of his age  his uncle Raghunathrao was take charge of the state on behalf of his young nephew.

Sumner Singh Gardi sent a group of killers who come into the room of where sleeping Narayanrao at night withour any securities. Narayanrao get up and understood that he was going to be murdered. He was run from Raghunathrao’s chamber and shouting “Uncle save me". Although he was caught by killers and cruelly killed by them. Cut into parts and then pull down in the river.

It is believed that the level of supernatural activity is on its zenith on every full moon night. The Ghost of the young Peshwa Narayanrao still now exists in in there with his painful soreness. Every moon night he cries and shouting for saving him.

Mehao Lake – It Has Natural Clear Water And Only The Place For Photographer’s Excitement

Mehao Lake is situated 14 kms away from Roing in Mehao Wildlife Sanctuary. Situated at an altitude of 3000 feet, Mehao Lake is a photographer’s delight. Set amidst dense green forest with beautiful flowers and plants, the 4 sq km water body sans fish attracts wild ducks in great numbers.

Geologists claim that this lake is Oligotrophic as there is no fish in the lake. Boating facilities are available here. You could go trekking in the forest that has not seen too many footprints of humankind. You are sure to be thrilled by your experience. Mehao Lake attracts tourists from all over, as its serene atmosphere spell bounds visitors.

Its periphery is about 4.8 km and one needs full one day to explore its surrounding. Mehao Lake can be reached only on foot and there is no other option as one needs to pass through the dense jungle of the wildlife sanctuary.

Starting from Roing first it is needed to cross Deoani River on foot and then traversing it for almost one hour only to enter in the jungle of more or less hilly for another one hour. Hard work and toil starts after crossing another water flow coming out of the lake, as it is nearly for another 4-6 hours of trekking at 50 -80 degrees inclination.

Sometimes it needs to be climbed, sometimes it needs to be pulled up, sometimes it needs to slipped down....oh its full of testing one's "come on" attitude. Shouts of joy naturally comes out as the lake gets visible with clouds in its lap!

Mehao lake is an upland lake situated at an altitude of 1640 mtr above Mean Sea Level with GPS co-ordinates N 28°08'51.87" & E 95°56'39.47".  It resembles a bowl on the hill top on Google Earth. It is an oligotrophic (low nutrient) lake and the water of the lake is crystal clear.

However, there is no road connectivity to the Lake as any kind of developmental activities that leads to deforestation is prohibited in the area without prior clearance/approval from the Wildlife Department. To make full survey or thorough view of the Lake one has to go fully prepared with light beddings and materials for one night halt as there is no provision for lodging in the vicinity.
