Hanuwantiya to get international
identity
Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with his wife
visited Boriyamal island during Hanuwantiya Jal-Mahotsav and held discussions
with officers of Tourism Development Corporation on possibilities of tourism
development there. He said that a waterway would develop between Omkareshwar
and Hanuwantiya. MD of Tourism Development Corporation Shri Hari Ranjan Rao,
District Collector, SP, Conservator of Forests and officers of Forest
department were present on the occasion. The Chief Minister directed to pay
attention to employment of local people in tourism development works. Local
youths will be imparted training in an ITI near the rural area and provided
jobs in tourism works of the corporation at Hanuwantiya.
Ride of hot air balloon:
Along with his wife, the Chief Minister enjoyed ride of hot air balloon
at Hanuwantiya. He sought information from tourists about facilities available
there. Tourists also shook hands with the Chief Minister and snapped selfies
with him.
Arrangements for entertainment of tourists at islands:
The Chief Minister said that such works will be undertaken during next 5
years that will change look of this area. Tourist facilities will also be
developed at nearby islands to attract tourists. He said that the land under
possession of Forest Department will be developed at tourist spots and some
unique tourism facility provided there. He said that tourists will be attracted
by anchoring an old sea ship in the waters of the island.
To be world’s most beautiful tourist destination:
The Chief Minister said that there are ample possibilities of
Hanuwantiya becoming a most beautiful tourist destination in the world. Massive
water body in the form of Narmada backwaters, lush green forests and wildlife
are enough to attract tourists. The Chief Minister said that waterway will be
developed from Omkareshwar to Hanuwatiya to Singaji and tourist circuit will be
developed to help tourists coming to have Darshan of Jyotirlinga at Omkareshwar
and also visit Hanuwantiya and Sant Singaji’s Samadhi via waterway.
Islands to be made World Class tourist destinations Bhopal:
Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that islands situated
in backwaters of Hanuwantiya in Khandwa district will be developed as global
level tourist destinations. He said that enthusiasm and attraction among
tourists is being witnessed regarding Hanuwantiya tourism area. Number of
tourists in the area is increasing day by day.
The Chief Minister talking to tourists taking part in Jal-Mahotsav at
Hanuwantiya. The Chief Minister said that next Jal-Mahotsav will be held from
December 15, 2016 to January 15, 2017. All necessary tourism facilities will be
made available during Mahotsav. He also directed for national and international
level branding of Mahotsav. Shri Chouhan also inspected stalls of leather art,
papier-mâché and brass idols.
The Chief Minister also held discussions with artists of radium art,
artificial jewellery, woodcraft, marble art, ceramic works, lakh art,
handicrafts, Mandna art. The Chief Minister also rode a bullock cart made
available for tourists. He also enjoyed Bundelkhandi dance at cultural
programme. Shri Chouhan also saw live demonstration of making of Surahis and
Matkis with clay by Dinesh Prajapati, a resident of village Moondi.
